Make a Duct Tape Tote Bag

This tutorial shows how to make a no-sew tote bag from duct tape.  This is perfect for storing books, task cards or anything.  Best of all, it only takes a few dollars to make.

Step 1:  Cut a 22 inch x 18 inch piece of plastic.  I purchased a half of a yard (which is perfect for making several bags) from a fabric store.  This is the same type of plastic that is used to cover furniture.  I spent only about $2.50.

Step 2: Next, fold the plastic in half.  I used Duck Brand duct tape.  Any duct tape will work.  Apply a piece of duct tape halfway under the plastic.  This will enable you to tape both the top and bottom parts of the plastic.

Step 3:  Apply tape in the same way to the other side of the plastic.

Step 4:  The strap was then attached.  I recommend cutting a 1 1/2 piece of tape and placing it onto the floor.  Cut a second piece of tape that it slightly shorter (14 inches).  Place the second piece of tape over the longer piece but leave two inch pieces on both ends of the tape uncovered for attaching to the bag.  This prevents the tape from sticking all over you as you attach the ends to both sides of the bag.

Step 5: Viola!  You have just created a tote bag in minutes.
