Who says that manipulatives can't be used with older students? Students of all ages enjoy using hands-on materials to learn math concepts.
This post is about ways to use cups to teach math concepts. Any cups that can stack will usually work.
The object of the activity is for students to find a matching pair of cups. The ordered pair cup has been placed under the cup that it matches in this example.
A graph should be drawn on one cup. An ordered pair that matches a graph should be written on another cup. Use up to ten cups to create different varieties of matches. Students can take turns matching the ordered pairs with their graphs.
Cups can also be used to review rays, lines, and angles.
